Aluva Atul Murder Case

Aluva Athul (real name Atul, aged 30) was a notorious gangster from Oachira who was hacked to death in broad daylight on March 14, 2026, in Karunagappally, Kollam. 

The Incident
Location & Time: The attack occurred around 11:00 AM on a busy stretch of the National Highway near Puthiyakavu, Karunagappally.

The Ambush: Athul was returning from the Karunagappally Police Station after fulfilling a mandatory bail condition to sign the attendance register.

The Attack: A gang in a Haryana-registered Innova chased and intentionally rammed his blue Swift car, forcing it into a ditch dug for flyover construction. The assailants then smashed the car windows and brutally hacked Athul with machetes and iron rods.

Outcome: Athul sustained fatal injuries to his head and legs and was declared dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital. His companion, Manu (also known as Kuku), was also injured but survived the attack. 

Motive: Gang Rivalry & Retaliation
The murder is believed to be a retaliatory act linked to the ongoing feud between the Wayanakam and Kudathur gangs. 

Gym Santhosh Case: Athul was the prime accused in the March 27, 2025, murder of local gym owner Santhosh (alias Gym Santhosh), who was killed in front of his mother by throwing bombs on his house.

Cycle of Violence: Investigators believe this latest killing was a planned revenge attack exactly one year after the Santhosh murder. 

Police Investigation & Arrests
Current Status: All eight suspects involved in the crime have been arrested within hours of the incident.

Key Arrests: The main assailants were intercepted by the Kottayam Police in Mundakkayam, Idukki district, and later handed over to the Kollam City Police.

Legal Action: A case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 103(1) for murder. The investigation is being led by City Police Commissioner M. Hemalatha, who has vowed zero tolerance toward gang violence. 

The Gym Santhosh case refers to the brutal 2025 murder of Santhosh Kumar (alias Gym Santhosh), a 45-year-old local gang leader and gym owner in Karunagappally, Kerala, and the subsequent retaliatory killing of his prime accused, Aluva Athul, in March 2026.

The Incident: On March 27, 2025, a gang allegedly led by Aluva Athul broke into Santhosh's house in Padanayarkulangara.

The Attack: The gang cut the electricity, hurled explosives to cause panic, and hacked Santhosh to death in front of his elderly mother.

Motive: Police investigation suggested it was a retaliatory strike following a long-standing feud between rival gangs from Karunagappally and Ochira.

Arrests: The prime accused, Aluva Athul, was apprehended in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu, 21 days after the crime.

    15-year-old boy has been detained in  Gujarat for the murder of his elder brother and his pregnant sister-in-law at their home in the  Khodiyar Ashram  in Shobhavadala village, Junagadh district in Gujarat.
