Russian Serial Killer - Alexei Leonovo

In January 2026, a 37-year-old Russian national named Alexei Leonov (also spelled Aleksei) was arrested in Goa, India, for the brutal murders of two Russian women and is currently under investigation for a possible third killing. 
Current Case (January 2026)
  • Arrest and Charges: Leonov was apprehended on Friday, January 16, 2026, after the body of his 37-year-old live-in partner, Elena Kasthanova, was found in a rented room in Arambol.
  • Victims:
    • Elena Vaneeva (37): A Russian bubble performer allegedly killed on the night of January 14, 2026, in Morjim.
    • Elena Kasthanova (37): A Russian dancer found murdered on January 15, 2026, in Arambol.
    • Unconfirmed Third Victim: During interrogation, Leonov reportedly claimed to have drugged and killed a 40-year-old Indian woman from Assam on January 14, 2026. Police are still verifying this claim through post-mortem evidence.
  • Modus Operandi: In both confirmed cases, the victims' throats were slit with a sharp weapon, and Kasthanova was found with her hands tied behind her back.
  • Background: Leonov had been living in India since 2023 and worked as a fire performer. He had previously stayed in multiple states, including Himachal Pradesh. Investigators believe the murders were fueled by monetary disputes and obsessive relationships.

A car bomb exploded near the Red Fort metro station in Delhi on Monday evening ( November 10, 2025 ), killing at least 13 people and injuring more than 20 others. Fraticide by 15 year old Gav Sevak

    15-year-old boy has been detained in  Gujarat for the murder of his elder brother and his pregnant sister-in-law at their home in the  Khodiyar Ashram  in Shobhavadala village, Junagadh district in Gujarat. The incident occurred on October 16, 2025 , but was uncovered by police around October 31 after the sister-in-law's family in Bihar became suspicious.  His mother too is suspected to have assisted him in his crime though not in murdering the victims but in disposing off the corpses. The family is a migrant family from Bihar and mother of the accused had become a sadhvi - a devoted saint after the death of her husband.
