Dill Raj Gill Murder Case

Dilraj Singh Gill , a 28-year-old Indian-origin man from Vancouver, was shot and killed on January 22, 2026 , in Burnaby , British Columbia .  Incident Details Location : The shooting took place near the 3700 block of Canada Way in Burnaby around 5:30 p.m.. Connection to Crime Scene: Shortly after the shooting, a vehicle was found engulfed in flames in the 5000 block of Buxton Street . The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) believe this vehicle is directly connected to the homicide, a tactic often used by organized gangs to destroy evidence. Victim Profile : Gill was reportedly known to law enforcement and had a history of drug-related convictions, including a trafficking sentence in 2021.  Investigation and Motive Gang Conflict : The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is leading the probe. Russia Chessboard Serial Killer

Alexander Pichushkin , known as the  "Chessboard Killer"  or the  "Bitsa Park Maniac,"  is one of Russia’s most prolific serial killers. He was active between 1992 and 2006, primarily in Moscow's Bitsevsky Park.   Key Details of His Crimes The Nickname:  He was dubbed the "Chessboard Killer" because he aimed to kill  64 people , one for each square on a chessboard. Following his arrest, police found a chessboard in his apartment with squares marked or coins placed to track his victims. Victim Profile:  He primarily targeted elderly homeless men, alcoholics, or acquaintances. He would lure them into the park under the guise of sharing vodka to mourn his supposedly dead dog. Modus Operandi:  Most victims were killed by repeated blows to the head with a hammer or by being thrown into the park's sewage wells to drown. Russian Serial Killer - Alexei Leonovo

In January 2026, a 37-year-old Russian national named  Alexei Leonov  (also spelled Aleksei) was arrested in Goa, India, for the brutal murders of two Russian women and is currently under investigation for a possible third killing.   Current Case (January 2026) Arrest and Charges:  Leonov was apprehended on Friday, January 16, 2026, after the body of his 37-year-old live-in partner,  Elena Kasthanova , was found in a rented room in Arambol. Victims: Elena Vaneeva (37):  A Russian bubble performer allegedly killed on the night of January 14, 2026, in Morjim. Elena Kasthanova (37):  A Russian dancer found murdered on January 15, 2026, in Arambol.
