Siraj Ahmed Encounter


In December 2025, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UP STF) shot dead notorious gangster Siraj Ahmed in an encounter. 
Encounter Details
Location: The encounter took place on the night between December 20 and 21, 2025, in the Gangoh area of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Circumstances: STF received intelligence that Siraj had entered Saharanpur from the Punjab-Haryana border to execute a major crime. During a chase between Madhi Majra and Salarpura villages, Siraj opened fire on the police. He was fatally wounded in the retaliatory firing and declared dead at a hospital.
Bounty: Siraj carried a reward of ₹1 lakh on his head. 
Criminal Background
History: Siraj Ahmed, a resident of Sultanpur, was a member of the Mukhtar Ansari gang and led the D-68 gang.
Charges: He had over 30 criminal cases against him, including murder, looting, dacoity, and charges under the National Security Act (NSA).
Key Case: He was the primary accused in the August 2023 murder of advocate Azad Ahmed in Sultanpur, an incident that had sparked widespread outrage. 
Aftermath and Reactions
Victim's Family: Upon hearing news of the encounter, the family of the murdered advocate, Azad Ahmed, celebrated by distributing sweets and thanking Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for delivering justice.
Funeral: Siraj’s body was taken to his native village in Sultanpur. Reports indicate a massive crowd of approximately 4,000 people gathered for his funeral, leading to a heavy police presence to maintain order.
Property Action: Prior to the encounter, the administration had already used bulldozers to demolish his property and attached assets worth nearly ₹4.66 crore

    15-year-old boy has been detained in  Gujarat for the murder of his elder brother and his pregnant sister-in-law at their home in the  Khodiyar Ashram  in Shobhavadala village, Junagadh district in Gujarat.
