Bondi Beach Massacre


Mass shooting at Bondi Beach, Sydney, has been declared a terrorist incident after at least 12 people were killed, including one of the gunmen, at a Hanukkah celebration event on Sunday, December 14, 2025. Twenty-nine others were injured, including two police officers. 

Details of the Incident
Targeted Attack: New South Wales Premier Chris Minns and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated the attack was an "act of evil antisemitism" that specifically targeted the Jewish community gathering for a "Chanukah by the Sea" event.

Perpetrators: Police confirmed there were two known suspects. One gunman was killed by police at the scene, and the second is in critical condition in custody. One of the gunmen has been identified as Naveed Akram.

Explosives Found: Improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were found in a vehicle linked to the deceased gunman and have since been safely removed by a bomb disposal unit.

Heroic Actions: A bystander was captured on video tackling and disarming one of the shooters, an act that officials have hailed as "genuine hero[ism]" that saved many lives. 

Aftermath and Response
Investigation: The incident has been declared a terrorist attack by the NSW Police Commissioner, and a significant counter-terrorism investigation is underway.

Rare Violence: Mass shootings are extremely rare in Australia due to strict gun laws implemented after the 1996 Port Arthur massacre. This attack is the deadliest shooting in the country since that time.

Community and Global Reaction: World leaders and community groups, including Muslim and Jewish councils, have condemned the violence and expressed solidarity with the victims and the Australian Jewish community. 
The immediate area around Bondi Beach has been secured as a crime scene, and authorities are continuing their investigations. 

As per the latest report the assailants have been identified as father-son duo Sajid Akram and Naved Akram. Authorities have described it as an act of terror and called it a pre planned anti semiotic assault in response to the Muslim Massacre in the Palestine by the Zionist regime which is carrying out genetic mass murder and ethnic cleansing continuously for decades. While Sajid Akram was shot dead Naved Akram has been hospitalised in critical condition.

    15-year-old boy has been detained in  Gujarat for the murder of his elder brother and his pregnant sister-in-law at their home in the  Khodiyar Ashram  in Shobhavadala village, Junagadh district in Gujarat.
