Rupal Ogrey Murder Case

Monday, 4 September 2023-Mumbai: Rupal Ogrey a trainee pilot with Air India was found murdered in a flat in G.N.Complex at Marol, Andheri. She was 24 and had arrived in Mumbai 6 months earlier from Raipur, Chattisgarh after she was selected for the job of an air hostess by the airlines. She stayed in the rented appartment with her sister and a friend. 
Her family had spoken with her on Sunday 3 September 2023 at 9:30 p.m.. After which time they didn't get her response so her sister and friend arrived at the appartment where they found the door was locked from the inside. They asked the guard to break open the door and after entering the appartment they found Rupal Ogrey lying dead in the pool of blood in the bathroom.
Mumbai Crime Branch formed eight teams to investigate the murder and arrested a housekeeping staff of the complex for the crime. The accused has confessed to the crime and said that the deceased had offended him previously so he decided to take the revenge. When he knew that she would be alone at her home he reached there with a knife. He attacked her with the knife and she fiercely resisted and could manage to snatch the knife from him. He acted swiftly and overpowered her and stabbed her to death. After killing her he dragged her dead body to the bathroom lest the blood spills out through the door. He was planning to escape but before that he was nabbed by the police.
Police report says that the accused Vikram Atval had a crush on Rupal Ogrey. Oon the fateful Sunday she was alone at her appartment because her cousin sister had gone to her native place to attend to the festivities of the Raksha Bandhan. Vikram Atval knew that Rupal Ogrey was alone so he thought it as an opportunity to fulfill his malicious desire. He entered her appartment with a knife and tried to obtain her submission by threatening her with the knife. Rupal Ogrey fiercely resisted his advances and a fight broke out between them. Vikram Atval fought back severely to save his life and job and stabbed her to death.
The last time her spoke with her was at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. After which time their attempts to call her didn't succeed. But when it was evening and she didn't respond the family grew anxious. Her cousin sister contacted one of her acquaintance in Mumbai and asked him to check on Rupal Ogrey. He went to the appartment but despite multiple call bell rings and knockings there wasn't any response from Rupal Ogrey. Her cousin sister asked the acquaintance to open the door of the appartment wiirh the help of the key maker who has his shop outside the complex. Thus rupal Ogrey was discovered lying dead in the pool of blood inside the appartment.
Police team checked for the visitors register and cctv footages and found that Vikram Atval had entered the appartment at 10:30 a.m. wearing his uniform and came out at 1:30 p.m. in his house clothes. This raised their suspicion and they interrogated him and finally he confessed to the crime.

    15-year-old boy has been detained in  Gujarat for the murder of his elder brother and his pregnant sister-in-law at their home in the  Khodiyar Ashram  in Shobhavadala village, Junagadh district in Gujarat.
