Rex Heuermann - Long Island Serial Killer
Rex Andrew Heuermann has been charged for 3 murders without parole out of 10 serial murders of Massapequia Park, Gilgo Beach, Long Island. He may also be positively charged in the fourth murder as well. He has pleaded not guilty.
In all 11 bodies were found during a period of over a decade, 12 years and 7 months, and he is the prime suspect in all of them but the prosecution could only charge him in only 3 of them based on the evidences collected.
Rex Andrew Heuermann is 59 years old and is an architect by profession.
Police are confident of charging him in the four murders because the deceased were related, it bore insignia, it had the similarities in modus operandi and they were wrapped similarly. Police could retrieve his DNA from a male which was recovered from the dead body of a victim attached to a plastic tape.
Suffok County police have charged him with 3 counts of first degree murders and 3 counts of second degree murders in the circuit court.
