Samad Khan
Samad Khan was the nephew of Pathan Gang boss Kareem Lala. When age caught up with Kareem Lala he handed over his Pathan Gang business to Samad Khan and he concentrated on hotel and property business.
There were three main mafias in Mumbai those days and they had there areas demarcated and business described. Haji Mastan Mirza operated through Bombay Port Trust into gold and costly watches smuggling. Kareem Lala operated in South Mumbai in narcotics, extortion and properties etc. Vardharajan Mudaliar mainly operated in and around Dharavi into the business of illicit liquor and property encroachment.
The Kaskar brother duo Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar and Shabbir Ibrahim Kaskar often criss crossed limits with Haji Mastan Mirza. They too began with smuggling at the Bombay Port Trust area. Once they clashed with the members of Haji Mastan Mirza gang and Mastan Mirza got their gang members beaten up by his opertatives at the Bombay Port Trust. To seek on revenge the Kaskar brother duo Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar and Shabbir Ibrahim Kaskar planned to rob the cash of Haji Mastan Mirza which was to be carried by a hundi carrier. The cash was found to belong to Metropolitan Bank.
The crime had occured in the area where their father Ibrahim Kaskar was a head constable. And it was sure that the case will be handed over to him. So the duo surrendered to the crime branch police. The police brokered a deal that they will provide with tip offs against the Pathan Gang. Because of which a mobster rivalry was started between the Kaskar brothers and Samad Khan and they would quite often clash over the point. Haji Mastan Mirza had brokered a peace deal between the two warring factions and they pledged to end the animosity and thenceforth stop clashing among themselves.
However Samad Khan wanted to settle the scores with the Kaskar brothers so he took help of Manya Surve an emerging gangster and got Shabbir Ibrahim Kaskar murdered. Dawood' Ibrahim Kaskar took help of Vardharajan Mudaliar to seek revenge on Samad Khan and with his help he killed Samad Khan, Amirzada and Alam Zaib one by one. This brought the end of most fierce, ferocious and fearless gangster of South Bombay.
