Jack the Ripper
1888 WhiteChapel, London has become a sensation in the history for all the wrong reasons. 11 prostitutes were found murdered by slitting their throats and ripped abdomens. And that's why te the killer whose identity is still unknown is popularly known as Jack the Ripper. However, in officaial records he is regareded as WhiteChapel Murderer or Leather Apron. 11 murders from 3 April 1888 to 13 February 1891 are recorded as WhiteChapel Murders in official records. Wether to blame all 11 eleven murders to one single individual had been debated but 5 of the 11 murders which are called as The Canonical Five are undisputed about being the work of the mysterious single murderer.
His trademark murder was that he would first slit apart the throat and then ripped open the abdomen and finally stab vagina a few times. The severity of wounds had suggested to the theory of vengeance. That the victims were prostitutes also gave an angle to the theory. Some suggested that it was a religious man who was against the increased prostitution in the locality. Others suggested that it was an anti Semitic person who was of the opinion that Jews were responsible for the criminal acticvities surge in the locality. Other theory suggested that the man must have contacted sexually transmitted deseas(STD) because of his visits to the prostitutes and hence he was avenging it on the prostitutes.
Because of the accuracy in cuts investigators believed that the murderer must be either of the butcher or the surgeon. Despite all the efforts his identity is still a mystery. When the murders stopped it was believed that either the culprit had died or migrated or had found his revenge with a particular prostitute who might have dditched him earlier and was found in the end after his relentless search.
